Presentation Title: FMW 12c Installations: Mostly Scripted
Speaker: Mr Martien van den Akker ACE
Company: Darwin-IT Professionals
Presentation abstract: Since 11g the installation of Fusion Middleware (FMW), including the Repository Creation is made possible using the Oracle Universal Installer. Although this is very convenient for ad-hoc installations, we experience this as error-prone and labor-intensive. In our presentation we will describe the installation topology for FMW on OSB, SOA Suite and BPM Suite, and showcase how to perform this installation using (Bash) scripts. Then we show how to create a domain using Weblogic Scripting Tool (WLST) scripts. Also artefacts like users, queues, datasources etc. are created automatically using these WLST scripts.

As a demo, we will deliver a FMW installation from scratch. Although there are a number of alternatives for this method of installation / configuration, we feel the scripted install is best for educational purposes while at the same time offering an efficient and well documented process. Of course we leave ample room for discussing other alternatives.
