Presentation Title: Tips & Tricks for Java & SOA Cloud Service Administrators
Speaker: Mr Simon Haslam ACE Director
Company: eProseed
Co-presenter:
Presentation abstract: Even in today's world of click-click-cloud there is still an important role for IT professionals to administer applications running on Oracle Cloud Platform instances; while Oracle and the platform itself takes care of many of the tedious day-to-day tasks from the past, you understand your organisation's applications and business context better than anyone else.

At Tech15 Simon presented about how Java Cloud Service might affect the requirements for WebLogic administrators. Two years on, and quite a few production instances of SOACS and JCS later, Simon returns to share his deeper experiences of the Oracle Cloud Platform. Topics of particular focus are provisioning (including re-provisioning the same version over extended periods), monitoring, backup/restore and self-service support. This session will help administrators get the highest service levels from their Oracle PaaS investments.
